Busy time…..~


Autumn is a busy time for woodworking related shows. Last week I was at the Bentley Wood Fair, quieter than usual with less stands but still interesting and the weather was kind on the day I went there.

Always good to see a variety of woodworking activities going on, in particular meeting several fellow members of the Association of Pole Lathe Turners and Green Woodworkers and sharing a brew up and a lengthy chat about all thing green and woody.

Here’s what ‘the boys’ have been making – spurtles, dibbers and crushers…

Down here in the south at least the weather has been remarkably mild but we have had the heating on first thing in the morning for several days so methinks I need to get the woodburning stove ready, sweep the chimney, replace the door rope seal and any damaged firebricks and have wood and kindling on standby – just in case…
